Human remains discovered near Parry Sound

WEST PARRY SOUND – On Jan. 15, 2017, shortly before 8 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a snowmobile trail off Nobel Road in McDougall Township.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers located what they believed to be human remains. The Office of the Chief Coroner has been notified and is attending.

The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit, supported by the OPP Forensic Identification Unit, OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, and the OPP Emergency Response Team, under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski and Detective Staff Sergeant Gerald Scherer of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing with the investigation.
