Homeowner injured by intruder during attempted B&E: Barrie police

Homeowner saw the intruder and was injured following an altercation with the man who fled the scene, say police

Barrie police are searching for a man after a break and enter resulted in an injury to a homeowner Monday afternoon.

Barrie police issued a Tweet about a “suspicious incident” that took place on Monday between 2:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. in the area of Burbank Place and St. Vincent Street.  

Communications co-ordinator Jennett Mays told BarrieToday “there was a break and enter and when the homeowner saw the intruder, there was an altercation and the homeowner was injured.”

Police are asking for the public's help to locate a white male suspect who is described as being in his 20's, 5'8" tall, wearing dark, baggy clothing and a toque. Police say he had long, unkempt blonde hair and facial hair.
