A 31-year-old Holland Landing man is facing charges including drug impaired driving following a head-on collision in Bradford.
On Friday, April 12, 2019, just before noon, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Bridge Street near Private Drive.
Investigation revealed that a westbound Suburban crossed over into oncoming traffic, colliding head on with an eastbound vehicle and causing a third vehicle to crash.
Six people in the two eastbound vehicles were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Suburban fled the scene on foot. An off-duty Toronto police officer chased the suspect for about one kilometre before arresting him without incident.
The driver is now facing serious charges including: Dangerous operation Operation while impaired Failure to stop after accident Operation while prohibited Drug possession Driving while under suspension The accused was released with a future court date.
Thanks to the quick thinking and action of the Toronto police officer, one more impaired driver has been apprehended. A photo of the two eastbound vehicles is attached.
