A hold and secure placed on Innisdale Secondary School earlier today lasted an hour before being lifted. Police say, however, an investigation is ongoing.
Police issued the hold and secure just after 10 a.m. when they received a call about a threat. Police wouldn't say what the threat was but Peter Leon, the communications co-ordinator for Barrie police told BarrieToday it appears to have been unfounded.
“It was a threatening message that was received, and the situation has since been resolved without issue,” said Leon. “The individual responsible was nowhere near the school and it does not appear they had been.”
The hold and secure was lifted just after 11 a.m. with the Simcoe County District School Board issuing the information on their social media.
Leon said there are no charges at this point but that police are following up with an investigation.
