WASAGA BEACH - On July 6, 2018, at 2:10 a.m.,  officers from the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received complaints of gun shots at Mosley and 3rd St. in the Town of Wasaga Beach.

A high risk takedown was initiated and a 36-year old North York Male was taken into custody and is now facing the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) related charges;

  • CC 244.2(1)(a) Discharge a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner
  • CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • CC 266 Assault
  • CC 91(1) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • CC 90 Carrying concealed weapon
  • CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marijuana - under 30 grams
  • CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
