The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a mischief and theft was reported at a business located in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, June 21, 2019, police attended an Innisifil Street business after it was determined that at approximately 1 a.m., an unknown male initially tried to access the fenced in compound on the west side of the property.

He then attended to the east side where he was able to damage a fence and gain access. The suspect then proceeded to steal a quantity of wire, which he removed using a wagon and walked away under what he believed was the cover of darkness.

His actions were however captured on video surveillance and although somewhat distorted due to the darkness, it is apparent that the suspect who is wanted is male white, heavy set, wearing glasses, a ball cap and a dark coloured sweater. The estimated value of the stolen wire is approximately $1500.

Anyone with information on this mischief and theft is asked to contact Constable Thompson of the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025, ext. 2707, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
