Four arrests made after fentanyl-focused investigation

SIMCOE COUNTY, ON - On June 20, 2019, in a collaborative effort between the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Barrie Police Service (BPS) a drug trafficking investigation was initiated focusing on fentanyl, heroin and cocaine. 

The Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of Nottawasaga OPP led the investigation and with the cooperation of BPS, two adult males were arrested in the City of Barrie. They have been charged with numerous offences relating to the trafficking of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl.  

As part of this investigation the OPP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a Springwater address. A substantial quantity of cocaine and currency were seized. 

Two adults, one male, one female, both from Springwater have also been charged with drug trafficking related offences. The male parties arrested in this investigation range from 21-38 years of age and the female party is 41.

Throughout the investigation Police have seized a quantity of fentanyl with a street value of $5,000, Cocaine with a street value of $16,000 and over $7,000 in Canadian currency.
