Five people taken to hospital after crash on Airport Road

Police say three people have life-threatening injuries; Two children also suffered serious injuries in collision near Mansfield

Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with the assistance of Nottawasaga OPP, Dufferin and Simcoe EMS and the Rosemont Fire Department attended a two-vehicle collision on Airport Road, south of Mansfield, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, just after 6 p.m.

The lone occupant of a Chevrolet Cruz was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Two of the occupants of the Hyundai Santa Fe were also transported to trauma centres with life-threatening injuries and two children from the vehicle were transported with serious injuries.

There was extensive damage to both vehicles and the road was closed for several hours while the OPP Traffic Collision Investigation Unit attended to investigate.

The investigation is currently ongoing and there are no other details available at this time.
