Barrie driver uninjured in triple-fatal crash near Guelph

One pronounced dead at scene, two others died at hospital

Police now say three occupants of the sedan are dead, including a 17-year-old male and a 45-year-old woman, both from Fergus, Ont.

The second driver, a 50-year-old Barrie man, was uninjured.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP - On Oct. 6, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious traffic collision involving two motor vehicles on Wellington Road 44, just south of Wellington Road 7, outside Rockwood.

Wellington County OPP along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department attended the scene. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at scene. Another passenger and the driver from the same vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second driver was uninjured.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Wellington Road 44 between Wellington Road 7 and Indian Trail will remain closed until further notice.

The deceased will not be identified until next of kin have been notified.
