Etobicoke man charged in Orillia drug bust

On July 19, 2019 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest in relation to the sale of illicit drugs within the City of Orillia.

On July 19, 2019 the Orillia OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began a drug trafficking investigation in the Forest Avenue area of Orillia. 

As a result of the investigation police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl and cash. Police arrested and charged Melvin Ogbomo, age 26, of Etobicoke with Possession of a Schedule I substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession of a Schedule II Substance contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Breach of Probation Contrary to Section 733.1 of the Criminal Code.

The accused was held in custody and later released on a Recognizance of Bail with a court date of August 27, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia
