Erratic driving leads to impaired charges for Innisfil man

Breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit, say police, who thank citizen for reporting this incident

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 5 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of an erratic driver in the 25th Sideroad and 9th Line area of Innisfil.  

Police conducted a traffic stop and the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation. He was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit of alcohol.

As a result, 42-year-old Shane Mitchell of Innisfil was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80.  

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Thank you to the citizen for reporting this incident. Because of your call, we were able to apprehend the vehicle, make an arrest and help make our roads safer. Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Call 911 if you see a suspected impaired driver.
