Emergency response unit negotiates Bradford woman's surrender

South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 26-year-old Bradford woman following a report of an assault with a weapon.

On Sunday, July 14, 2019 around 1 p.m., police were dispatched to a Bradford home where a 33-year-old man said his girlfriend had stabbed him in the leg during an argument.

Officers learned the suspect ran off and was hiding in a neighbour's house. Members of the Emergency Response Unit used tactical communications to have the suspect surrender.

A 26-year-old Bradford woman was charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault and Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The victim was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
