Innisfil - A 57-year-old Thunder Bay man was taken to hospital after his E-Bike was struck by a vehicle.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2018 around 1:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a suspicious person call of a man pushing an E-Bike
in the Killarney Beach Rd. and Yonge St. area of Innisfil. Conditions were pitch black at the time and posed a safety hazard to anyone walking on the road. Police took the man to a location in Lefroy where he could charge the bike and advised him to wait until daylight to leave for safety reasons.

At 5:00 a.m., police were called to Yonge St. and County Rd. 89 in Innisfil after the man was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The E-Bike rider was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

It's important for everyone to adjust to the change of season and the fewer daylight hours that fall brings. Riders need to be seen to be safe.
