A 35-year-old Toronto man is charged with possession of stolen property after a traffic stop in Bradford.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer stopped a vehicle on Walker Avenue after observing the vehicle's rear licence plate was obstructed by a bicycle attached to the back.

Investigation determined the licence plates were stolen. The 35-year-old male driver from Toronto was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

He was also charged with eight Highway Traffic Act offences including driving while under suspension, driving without insurance and having an obstructed plate.

The driver was released with a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days due to the man's previous driving history. Police seized the stolen licence plates.
