A statement released by the Barrie Police Service regarding this investigation follows:
Jan. 17 update:
As a result of an ongoing Barrie Police Service investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence located in Barrie and there was a significant amount of stolen jewelry, coins and other personal and family type heirlooms that were seized.
Police have determined that the stolen property had been from at least nine break and enters that the accused had (allegedly) carried out throughout the city since November of 2018 normally by forcing open rear doors or windows of the targeted homes.
