Barrie man charged after vehicle ends up in Bradford ditch

BRADFORD - A 31-year-old Barrie man is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges following a single-vehicle collision.

On Saturday, June 8, 2019 around 11:40 a.m., police responded to the area of 5th Line and Canal Road in Bradford following a report of vehicle driving erratically and at a high rate of speed.

Once on scene, officers learned the driver had lost control and went into a ditch.

The driver was not injured.

Police detected an odour of alcohol and other signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to South Division where breath tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit of alcohol.

A 31-year-old Barrie man was charged with impaired driving, over 80 and dangerous driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.
