Cyclist in critical condition after being found in Innisfil ditch

South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was found injured in the St. Johns Road and Garden Avenue area of Innisfil.  

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, around 8:15 p.m., police were called to the area by citizens who had located the cyclist in a ditch.

The 27-year-old Innisfil man was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted via Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre where he is listed in critical condition.

South Simcoe Police Service is appealing for the public's help to determine what happened. Witnesses who saw the cyclist in the area of St. Johns Road near Garden Avenue or anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Constable Paul Catling of the Traffic Unit at 705-436-2141, 905-775-3311 extension #2035 or call Crime Stoppers.

Thank you to the citizens who provided first aid to the injured cyclist until emergency crews arrived.  South Simcoe Police Service is reminding cyclists and motorists to be safe and share the road.
