BOND HEAD - A 28-year-old Cookstown man was issued a three-day licence suspension after a vehicle was stopped at a RIDE program in Bond Head.

On Monday, July 29, 2019 around 1 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers conducting a RIDE program on County Road 88 and Country Road 27 spoke to a driver who exhibited signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to South Division. Breath tests resulted in a three-day licence suspension for a 28-year-old Cookstown man. He was also ticketed for liquor and cannabis readily available.

We conduct RIDE programs year-round in an ongoing effort to fight impaired driving. If you see a suspected impaired driver, safely call 9-1-1. Impaired driving is a crime in progress that puts other law-abiding motorists and pedestrians in danger.
