On Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 just before 9 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer was sent to a driving complaint. A witness told the dispatcher that a woman had driven over a curb in a parking lot on Holland Street East, and appeared to be intoxicated.

The responding officer was driving to the suspect's address when another witness flagged him down to report that the suspect vehicle had just collided with a tree on Zima Crescent.

The officer located the suspect and her children at the scene, injured. All three were taken to a local hospital in the care of paramedics. They were treated for minor injuries and released.

Through investigation, the officer determined that the woman was indeed the driver of the vehicle. She was arrested and tested at the hospital.

As a result, the 39-year-old Bradford woman was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. She was released to an August court date. Her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days.
