Collingwood homicide victim identified, suspect arrested

Police have confirmed the victim of a homicide in Collingwood on Friday was Dustin Leblond, a 33-year-old man from Clearview Township. 

Ontario Provincial Police officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment have been investigating a homicide after being called to Matthew Way for a disturbance at 10:45 p.m. on June 2.

Police have since arrested Jeffrey Young, 43, of Wasaga Beach and charged him with second-degree murder. The accused remains in custody. 

The investigation involves the Collingwood OPP crime unit under the direction the OPP criminal investigations branch, in conjunction with office of the chief coroner for Ontario, Ontario Forensic Pathology Services, and OPP forensic identification services.

Police ask anyone with information to call OPP at 705-445-4321 or 1-888-310-1122. They also urge anyone in the area to check for video footage from devices at their homes.
