Suspect steals cash and cigarettes in convenience store robbery Friday evening

Barrie Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store on Innisfil Street in Barrie last week.

On Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 just before 6 p.m., the suspect entered a convenience store in a small plaza on Innisfil Street in Barrie. The suspect entered the store alone, walked behind the counter and displayed a weapon, demanding the clerk lay down on the ground. The suspect then obtained a quantity of cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot. The employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident.

Police are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • Younger male (adult age)
  • Tall with a slim build
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with a black mask over his face, black pants with a Nike logo on the thigh, gloves and black shoes.
