Clearview teens face attempted murder charges

ORO-MEDONTE – In the early morning hours of December 24, 2016, officers from the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an injured person on Woodland Heights Drive in Oro-Medonte Township.

The County of Simcoe Paramedic Services attended the scene and transported one person to an area hospital.    

The ongoing investigation is continuing by members of the Barrie OPP and Central Region OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Randy Wright of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).  

On Tuesday December 27, 2016, John Davey (18 years of age) and Taylor Jacksch (18 years of age), both of Clearview Township were arrested and charged with attempt murder, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both of the accused males are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on December 28, 2016 for a bail hearing. The victim remains in a Toronto area hospital after suffering serious injuries.
