Child airlifted to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Midland

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a motor vehicle collision on private property that resulted in serious injuries for a young child in the Town of Midland.

On July 26, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to a collision at a car wash business on William Street. A young child was reported to have been struck by a vehicle.

The child suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Simcoe County Paramedic Services and later airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area hospital. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Motorists are reminded to be vigilant of their surroundings at all times and watch for children, pedestrians and other vulnerable persons. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Southern Georgian Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
