Car stolen at gunpoint from woman on her way to work

The Barrie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public with regard to an ongoing robbery investigation.

On Oct. 25, 2019, at approximately 8 a.m., a female homeowner, who resides on Oren Boulevard in the City of Barrie, observed an unknown male as she was walking back up her driveway after picking up her recycling containers from the bottom of her driveway.

A few minutes later as she was preparing to leave for work, the male, who she had earlier seen walking eastbound on her street had turned around and was now walking westbound toward her home. He continued to approach her and while brandishing a firearm, demanded the keys for her car.

The victim complied and the suspect was last seen backing out of her driveway in a 2018 Mazda 3TR, grey in colour, licence BPBY440. The victim involved in this incident was not injured and the stolen motor vehicle remains outstanding at this time.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, black, dark complexion, 6'2"-6'3", thin build, 18-22 years.
  • Wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt with three white stripes down the arms, dark pants and white running shoes.
