An Oshawa man is facing numerous charges after being pulled over Wednesday in Barrie for having a headlight out.

A Barrie police sergeant stopped the vehicle shortly before 11:30 p.m., May 17, after the driver pulled into a plaza at Cundles Road and Bayfield Street.

City police say the officer “was met with a strong odour of cannabis emanating from the motor vehicle,” according to a news release.

Police seized cannabis, cocaine, fentanyl, prescription medication, and Canadian currency.

The 25-year-old driver is facing drug possession and drug trafficking charges, as well as obstructing a peace officer and driving without proper headlights.

He was held for a bail hearing and was scheduled to appear via video today in Barrie court.
