A bridge located at Brady Drive and Highway 11 in the Township of Severn has been officially dedicated in memory of fallen OPP Constable Ted E. R. Wickens who was killed in the line of duty.

On the evening of May 10, 1960, Constable Wickens was patrolling a section of Highway 11, in the Orillia area. A cement carrier travelling on Highway 11 lost a wheel that collided with the police cruiser that Wickens was driving. As a result of the collision, thirty-one year old Provincial Constable Wickens was killed.

Memorial signs with the officer's name and police service crest have been posted at each side of the Brady Drive Bridge in his honour.
