Body found in the water along Collingwood shoreline

Heritage Drive was blocked off while police investigated; OPP say death is not suspicious

Collingwood OPP have reopened Heritage Drive after being blocked off for a police investigation following the discovery of a body on Monday. 

According to a police report released this morning, a body was found in the water near the shoreline on Sept. 13 around 4:30 p.m.

OPP, Simcoe County paramedics and the Collingwood Fire Department responded to the call. 

"The death is not believed to be suspicious," stated the OPP news release. 

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place "in the coming days."

The name of the deceased has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.
