OPP are investigating the discovery of a body in a wooded area behind 571 Bayfield Street in Springwater Township.
An officer on scene says it is the body of a woman.
Barrie Police initially responded but the location wound up being just outside City of Barrie limits.
Police say the body was found in what appears to be a makeshift shelter.
Barrie Police and OPP officers are on scene.
Officers are trying to determine the circumstances of the death.
