NEWS RELEASE

BARRIE POLICE SERVICE

Barrie Police received multiple calls to Zehrs at 620 Yonge Street, in the City of Barrie, for reports of an irate man yelling, screaming and running into traffic in the parking lot.

As police pulled up on scene they spotted the male standing in the middle of the drive way in front of the Zehrs grocery store.

Police observed the male lunge at a moving vehicle and could hear the accused screaming at store patrons who were obviously scared with nearly a dozen staff and customers huddled by the exit doors of the store afraid to walk to their vehicles.

The 38-year-old Barrie man was arrested and charged with Causing a Disturbance and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place. He spent some time at the Barrie Police Service until he was sober enough to be released with his future court date in February.

He has some strict conditions on consuming alcohol, specifically in public places.
