South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 43-year-old Barrie woman with speeding and failing to stop after a pursuit in Bradford.

On Monday, July 15, 2019 around 5:15 p.m., an officer conducting radar on Sideroad 5 near Line 11 observed a northbound vehicle travelling in excess of 30 kilometres of the posted speed limit.

After stopping the vehicle, the driver stepped out into a live lane of traffic creating a hazard for both the driver and the officer.

The officer ordered the driver back into her vehicle.

The woman then drove off after a passing Ontario Provincial Police cruiser stopped at the scene.

The South Simcoe Police Service officer immediately followed the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over for a second time.

The OPP unit joined the pursuit and the suspect vehicle eventually stopped.

A 43-year-old Barrie woman has been charged with Speeding and Fail to Stop on Right for Emergency Vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.
