Zia Mohammed Chaudhry, 18, is wanted by Barrie police in connection to a double shooting on Bayfield Street in February 2022.

Barrie police have released an image of the teenage suspect wanted in connection to a double shooting on Bayfield Street last month.

Zia Mohammed Chaudhry, 18, is wanted on charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent, and two counts of aggravated assault.

City police responded to a shooting in the area of Bayfield and Grove streets at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Two male victims, reportedly in their 20s, were airlifted to Toronto-area trauma centres where they were listed to be in serious but stable condition. Last week, a Barrie police official said one of the victims has since been released from hospital, while the other remained in hospital in serious condition.

No details have been released about the relationship between the suspect and the victims.

Police say Chaudhry is known by the street name 'Tray' or 'Trey'.

Chaudhry is known to frequent Barrie and Toronto. He is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are advised not to approach him, but to call 911 if spotted.

He is described as 18 years old with brown skin tone, standing approximately five-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds with a thin build, straight black hair, and brown eyes.

The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on this occurrence or Chaudhry's whereabouts to call 911.
