Barrie man identified in Tuesday's theft at Bradford Walmart

BRADFORD, ON - On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, a 41-year-old Barrie man was arrested following a public appeal for assistance to identify a shoplifting suspect.

The man is charged with:
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Fraud under $5,000 - two counts
  • Breach of probation - two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

On Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, South Simcoe Police Service officers released security camera images in an effort to identify a theft suspect.

The theft occurred on Tuesday, Jan 22, 2019, around 2:30 p.m., when a man entered the Walmart located on Holland Street West in Bradford, selected two items and placed them in a bag. He then went to the customer service desk, returned the items and received a gift card. The suspect left the area as a passenger in a Grey Audi.
