Death of former Barrie man deemed not suspicious

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a sudden death occurrence where a report of a deceased person was received on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 24.

A 50-year-old male person was reported to have been located in a bathroom at a local restaurant in apparent medical distress.

The man was transported to Timmins and District Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced as deceased.

The deceased person has been positively identified as a man, 50, originally from the Barrie, Ont. area.

Next of kin notifications have been managed by the Timmins Police Service.

A post mortem examination was completed on Friday, Jan. 25 at a Sudbury area hospital and has conclusively determined that the cause of death is deemed to be not suspicious in nature.

The results of other standard investigative measures undertaken by the Timmins Police Service are consistent with this finding.

The Timmins Police Service deems this to be a closed investigation.
