Barrie man faces several child pornography related charges

On Monday, June 11, 2018, members of the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 36-year-old Barrie man following a lengthy child pornography investigation.

In October of 2016, investigators received a tip concerning the uploading of child pornography, which had been uploaded from Skype. A lengthy investigation by the Barrie Police ICE Unit, along with OPP Tech Crime, led to the execution of a search warrant and the seizure of several devices, which were forensically analyzed.

The accused has been charged with:

  • Word of child pornography x3
  • Distributing child pornography x2
  • Sexual interference  x2
  • Sexual assault x2
  • Accessing child pornography

The accused male is scheduled to appear in a Barrie Court of Justice on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 to answer to his charges.
