A Barrie man is facing multiple charges, including stunt driving and speeding, following a traffic stop in Innisfil.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, at approximately 12:50 a.m., South Simcoe police says one of its officers was conducting traffic enforcement along Innisfil Beach Road and spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

Police say the driver was clocked at 120 kilometres per hour in a posted 40 km/h zone.

According to police, as the officer indicated for the driver to pull over, "the vehicle began sliding on the snow-covered roads, struck a curb and came to a stop."

No one was injured and the vehicle sustained no damage.

As a result of an investigation, police have charged a 22-year-old Barrie man with stunt driving, speeding, fail to stop when directed by police, and driving a motor vehicle without a valid permit. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle impounded for 14 days.
