INNISFIL – A 23-year-old Barrie man was charged with over 80 after a concerned citizen called to report a vehicle in a ditch and a suspected impaired driver.
South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 to the single-vehicle collision on 10th Sideroad north of Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil.
The responding officer detected an odour of alcohol and following a roadside screening device test, the driver was arrested and transported to North Division. Breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.
23-year-old Anmoldeep Thind of Barrie was charged with over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was not injured in the collision.
This was the second time this week that we received a call regarding a suspected impaired driver. Thank you to our citizens for working with us to keep our roads safe.
