Barrie driver among four charged with stunt driving in five days

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been continuing their commitment to road safety across Grey and Bruce counties with proactive traffic enforcement.

Since Aug. 6, the Grey Bruce OPP have charged the following four drivers with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act:

  • A 28-year-old driver from Norwich, travelling at over 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 6
  • A 27-year-old driver from Barrie, travelling at over 140 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 26
  • A 33-year-old driver from Holland Centre, travelling at over 160 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 10
  • A 39-year-old driver from Toronto, travelling at over 165 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 10

Those drivers now face a scheduled court appearance at the Provincial Offences Court in Owen Sound, a 14-day vehicle impoundment, and a 30-day licence suspension. This brings the yearly total to 43 drivers charged with stunt driving in Grey and Bruce counties.

The Grey Bruce OPP would like to remind motorists that we all play a part in keeping our roadways safe. Plan ahead for unexpected delays, drive according to the road and weather conditions, and always obey all traffic laws when travelling to your destination.
