Attempted murder at Bradford factory

BRADFORD - A 27-year-old Bradford man is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon after a woman was attacked at a Bradford factory.

On Wednesday, July 4, 2018, around 9:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the factory located in the 10th Sideroad and 8th Line area for a report of a possible industrial accident.

When officers arrived on scene they located an injured woman being treated by paramedics. She was transported to hospital by emergency run and later transferred to a Toronto trauma centre. She is listed in critical condition following surgery.

Investigation revealed that the woman had been attacked by another employee who then left the building.

A suspect was arrested without incident at 2:43 a.m. after officers stopped a vehicle in the Simcoe Road and Line 6 area. He was taken to South Division to be processed. He is scheduled to appear in Barrie bail court this afternoon.

The motive for the attack is unknown.
