BRADFORD - On Monday, Mar. 27, 2017, at 10:42 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to the area of Holland Street West and Simcoe Road for the report of a stabbing.

Officers learned that the victim, a 26 year old Bradford man, exited a restaurant at the corner when he was confronted by the suspect. It is believed that they have an ongoing disagreement.

A fight ensued during which the victim was stabbed in the chest. Both the victim and the suspect left the scene before police arrived. The victim was later located at his residence. He was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Surveillance footage gathered from the area produced a still photo of the suspect. After the photo was broadcast on social media, the identity of the suspect was confirmed. He was contacted and surrendered himself on Wednesday, Mar. 29.

A 24-year-old Newmarket man has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, carry concealed weapon and disobey court order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

South Simcoe Police acknowledge the assistance of the public in the identification and arrest of this subject.
