On Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, around 11 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a call for a domestic assault in Innisfil.
When officers arrived, they observed a man with a knife in a garage who refused to exit. Police maintained observations and on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 around 3:00 a.m., the man was arrested without incident. The female victim did not require medical treatment.
A 43-year-old Innisfil man was charged with assault and assault causing body harm.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 79 calls for service.
