2 killed, 1 injured in Bradford collision

Collision occurred between Lines 2 and 3 on County Road 27

Two people have died and one is in hospital after a two-vehicle collision late Thursday morning on County Road 27 between Lines 2 and 3 in Bradford.

Emergency crews were called to the scene for what appeared to be a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

The two occupants of the vehicle driving north on County Road 27 were pronounced dead at the scene, and the lone occupant of the southbound vehicle was extricated and transported to a Toronto hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

South Simcoe police Sgt. David Phillips said there is an extensive amount of damage, with one of the vehicles having burst into flames.

“It appears to have taken place in the northbound lanes,” said Phillips.

County Road 27 has been closed in both directions until further notice while police investigate the cause of the crash and identify the victims.

Anyone with information that can assist police or who has dash camera video is asked to contact Sgt. Jessica Irwin of the Traffic Unit at 905-775-3311, 705-436-2141, ext. 2030, jessica.irwin@southsimcoepolice.ca, or contact Crime Stoppers.
