TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH - On Jan. 12, 2020, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a male's suspicious behaviour at a local grocery store.

It is alleged the suspect entered the women's public restroom and proceeded to take photographs. Due to the quick actions of a concerned citizen who detained the suspect until police arrival, the suspect was successfully identified and apprehended.

As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old male from Alliston has been charged with voyeurism.

The accused youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a future date in February.

The OPP depends on the assistance and contributions of members of the public to help keep our communities safe.
