Girl, 10, dies after being hit by car while riding bicycle north of Toronto

VAUGHAN, Ont. — Police north of Toronto say a 10-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle.

York Regional Police say the girl died from her injuries in hospital Thursday night after being hit the day before in Vaughan, Ont.

They say they responded to a call for a serious collision at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police allege a 33-year-old driver in a white Hyundai Santa Fe SUV struck the girl.

They say the driver remained on scene while the girl was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police are seeking witnesses and ask that any video of what happened be brought to them.
