YOUNG, Margaret Janet (nee Chalmers)

Margaret Janet Young (nee Chalmers) of Barrie, passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 7th, 2016 following a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late George Edward Young. She is survived by her brothers, Sonny Chalmers (June), Jack Chalmers (Chic) and her sister Mickey Lewis (Jack, predeceased). Marg is also survived by her children, Kathy (Ken), Jim (Shirley), Lennie (Jim), Gina and Lori (Frank) plus 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her unborn great granddaughter, Audrey. She was predeceased by her daughter Leah (Wayne, predeceased) and 1 grandchild. Marg was in her 88th year and will be greatly missed. Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Road, Barrie, on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 12 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Hospice Simcoe, War Amps/Champs and the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
