Passed away peacefully in his 91st year at Sara Vista Long Term Care Centre Elmvale after a lengthy illness on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Cowan) for 62 years. Loving father of Melvin (Laine), Robert (Roberta), Carole (Andy) Crawford, Cathy (Colin) Curlew. Cherished Papa of Natalie (Chris) Dance, Benjamin (Jenn) Wright, Bryanna (JD) Britney (Casey) McNutt, Tyler (Britney) Crawford, Eric, Owen, Megan Wright and Courtney Curlew. Dear Great Papa to Brycen Crawford and Savannah Dance. Gordon was a faithful member of Bethel Community Church, Barrie and the Barrie Gideon Chapter. Gordon founded Wrico Holsteins and he served on many agricultural boards during his farming life. His greatest gift was passing on his values of integrity, hard work, compassion and loyalty. Friends and family will be received at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 445 St. Vincent St. Barrie (just north of Cundles Rd.) on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at Bethel Community Church, 128 St. Vincent St., Barrie ON at 11 o’clock Friday, December 29, 2017. Spring interment, Midhurst Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon’s memory to Bethel Community Church or Gideons International.
