WONG, Peggy (Margaret) Jane

(April 14, 1954 – October 4, 2017) - A loving, thoughtful, caring and strong, Mom, wife and sister, Peggy left us suddenly with still too much life to live. Born in Toronto, Ontario to her late father, Philip Edward Staite and late mother, Margaret Patricia Staite (Alexander). Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Robert, daughter, Jennifer (Bonn, Germany) and son, Michael & fiancé, Neville (Vancouver, BC). Further, loved by her caring sister and family, Patricia Staite (Toronto, ON) – David & Erika, Benjamin, Timothy and Katelyn and her supportive brother, Philip and Elizabeth Staite – Victoria and Philip Anthony & Jenna.

Our dear Peggy was passionate about the environment and social change. Her eight years volunteering at the Barrie Arboretum incubated the Tranquility Garden, the Sesquicentennial Pavilion and a pesticide-free native landscape for all to enjoy. As Master gardener and recipient of the Barrie Spirit Catcher award, Peggy loved to share her strong values for the environment especially in her own garden. Peggy will forever live in our hearts but will be truly missed in all of the community. A celebration of life will be held at the Barrie Golf and Country Club on Fri, October 13, 2017 from 1 – 3 pm.
