James-Williams

89, Barrie (formally Bass River, NS), passed away on April 1, 2016 at Grove Park Home, Barrie. He was a very kind, generous man that always left people with a smile.
Born in Bass River, NS, he was the 4th son of the late Walter and Henrietta Williams. He served in the Canadian Army during WWII, where he met and later married Gladys Rideout. They were happily married for 56 years before she died in 2003. He was a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, for many years and obtained 40 years of sobriety before his death. Jimmie spent most of his life working as a self-employed carpenter. Everyone knew him as a “Jack of all Trades”, that could always be relied on to fix or build whatever you needed.
He is survived by loving daughter, Selena (Kevin) Croxall, adoring grandson Alex, Barrie ON; brothers: Alfred (Jean), Dalhousie, NB, and Stanley (Ollie), Amherst NS; sisters: Elizabeth McInnis, New Minas; Patricia Cottenden, Amherst; and Pauline (John) May, Truro.
