WHITMELL, Donald “Don”

(February 20th, 1931 - September 26th, 2016)
Passed away peacefully at the Hospice Simcoe in Barrie at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late June Whitmell. Loving and proud father to Gayle and Michael along with his wife Sonya. Loving “Bumpa” who will be missed by Heather & Kyle and his wife Mallory. Sadly missed by his brother Wally (Betty) & his “baby” sister Muriel (Norm). Pre-deceased by his brother  Everette & Norm and his sister Milly. Don was a friendly, gentle man with a twinkle in his blue eyes, loved by all who met him. He loved his days at Molson Breweries in Barrie as a Stationary Engineer, and all the people he came in touch with. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thank you to Dr. Morris, Hospice & all its “Angel” caretakers who lovingly opened their home & hearts to us. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Simcoe through the Jennett Funeral & Cremation Centre 152 Bradford St. in Barrie where family arrangements have been made.
