Surrounded by family, Delores Christina (Cooper) Weston joined her precious Saviour in Heaven on August 15, 2017 at the age of 79. She was the cherished wife of the late Gilbert Weston (2010) and much loved Mom of Sharon Diamond (2015). Survived by remaining children Dave (Sue), Steve (Sandra) and Deb (Jon) Dearden, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and siblings Ralph (Marion) Cooper, Gladys (Vern) Bates and Gary (Diane) Cooper. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends. While Barrie was her birthplace and stomping grounds, she and the love of her life lived life to the full, sharing their homes here and in Florida and their cottage with many. They enjoyed travelling near and far and thought nothing of driving for hours to help someone out or for a short visit. They found joy in simple pleasures and generously shared their time, energy and resources. While our hearts are heavy, we celebrate Delores’s life and legacy.
Family and friends will be received at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Sunday August 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friends will also be received at Hiway Church, 50 Anne Street North, Barrie from 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, until the Celebration of her Life at 12:00. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at Barrie Union Cemetery following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to Child Care Plus would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
