It is with great sadness that the family of Larry James Torpey of Wasaga Beach wishes to announce his passing. Larry passed after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on November 15, 2018, at Campbell House hospice in Collingwood. Larry was born in Barrie on April 14, 1942 to the late James and Alice (Shanahan) Torpey. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Coughlin), his son Jamie (Ligita), daughter Melissa (Suat) and son Brendan. Larry was also the loving Poppy of Vanessa and Viktorjia Torpey, and Zehra and Leyla Ozturk. He is also survived by sister, Ann Hoggarth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Campbell House Collingwood. One of Larry’s greatest gifts in life was to keep everyone laughing with his quick wit which he kept up until his last moments. His beautiful kind heart, never ending encouraging words and big smile will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be 7-9pm on Tuesday November 20 at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street Barrie. Funeral services will be held 11am on Wednesday November 21 at Steckley-Gooderham Chapel.
